Hi all!
Once again, we meet up for our monthly youth gathering to pray. But we've got something special this month - we're having yet another pot-luck party! For those of you who've missed our 3rd OCT moon night, join us for this one!
6:00pm - Our monthly prayer meet (1hr) - we'll hear some inputs of the lives of some saints, sing some hymns and pray for all the people around us including our priests and our youth ministry!
7:00pm - Potluck Dinner Party! We'll play, different types of games, boardgames, interactive stuff so bring all your boardgames along!
Type of food to bring:
- staples: sandwiches, beehoon, fried rice, etc
- meats: chicken wings, nuggets, easy stuff?
- desserts
- drinks

Announcement for 1st August 2009
Hey Y'all here's some things that you should be updated about.... First part shall be about the new updated plan for Publicity. And next part will be other stuff haha
Photo Exhibition FlyersI will need a total of 200 Flyers (4 black & white flyers on A4) by this Saturday so that we can pass them to the Catechist of the Con 1 and 2 levels. I guess we don't need to have publicity duties already for this weekend.
*Note that we can't go to the classes to publicise ourselves already
Can someone from the print/log team (Emman, Ian, Elizabeth, Ashley, Mark, Benjamin, Deborah, Nicole, Kimberly) get this done? Please let me know. Flyers shall just be the Exhibition Poster. Can get it from Eugene (:
Posters
Posters will not be put up on the bulletin boards already so now we can have more time for the posters to be ready. Around 5 A3 posters would be enough for days like submission days and exhibition days. I'll need them printed and ready by 5 August 09. Print/log Team's job again.
E-FlyersI will need a design of an E-Flyer so that I can send this to Youth Comm who can help us send to PPC where they can spread the news to the other ministry members. With this, other parishioners can also get the link to check out the flyer for information when needed. Plus no money is used :D
Poster Team (Me, Annalisa, Eugene, Tania, Audrey) may probably need to come up with a attractive design and maybe this time can add more details for the E-FLyer. Need to be done by 5 August 09.
Facebook EventMaybe we could try out using Facebook Event to publicise the exhibition so we can reach out to the Facebook users in OLPS. Then if this happens to be quite useful, we could use this method for our upcoming events like the Christmas Carolling in December.
Painting Project @ Chai CheeHere's a project where some of the youth ministries are coming down together to help with.
Here's a scope of the project:
We'll be painting the homes of 7 elderly residents.The amount of painting to be done varies from home to home There should be at least 4 'workers' per unit, with at least one adult to supervise and assist. We'll also have to move furniture, clean walls, windows and floors Of course, at the end of it all, we'll have to wash the brushes and trays, etc A simple packet lunch will be provided and can be consumed at the command centre
Date: Saturday 1 Aug 09 Time: 9AM - 4PM (might end earlier) (For Genesis Members, we can leave like around 2pm for meeting)
Venue: Blks 22, 23 and 24 Chai Chee Road (Meet at OLPS foyer at 9am) Command Centre: Elderly Activity Centre, Blk 22 (void-deck) Stuff to bring: Bottle of water, towel (to wipe yourself), rags (to wipe everything else), old newspapers, gloves (optional)
*Message me if you're interested. I need attendance by 31st July!
St. Pius Day on 15th August 2009All ministries are invited. Mass, potluck & Knite with Servers. Interested please message me so I can get some seats reserve for you at the Verbist Hall. And also if you wanna join the the PotLuck.
Sunday 3rd Canteen Duty by OLPS YouthsGenesis isn't doing duty but ALL con 3 SA teens from ALL ministries are invited to make this their final Sercive together as a whole Youth Ministry. On 20 September. Shall confirm attendance on Genesis this Sat's Meeting.

HEY ALL! Con 3 Service Attachment starts this coming Saturday (11 July)! UPDATED CALENDAR (updated on 7 July) AT THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM!
What's Updated: Service Attachment will end on 19 Sep instead of 26 Sep. Hence, Photo Exhibition will be cut to 3 days on 6 Sep, 12 Sep & 13 Sep. The Groups doing duties on these days are changed too.
AND! May I know who is able to contribute his/her laptop on the submission days? Good if have bluetooth, USB ports and memory card reader. Let me know if can. There's already one which is mine. Lol

In case some of you might not know yet, Genesis is going to run a Photo Exhibition together with Con 3 Attachees.
Aim: To be aware and appreciate God's creation around us - in us, in things etc.
How it's done: This awareness and appreciation will be expressed through photographs that will be taken by any parishioner in OLPS. There will be 5 themes where the parishioner has to choose which theme reflects what his/her picture is trying to portray.
Who is it opened to: All parishioners of all ages!
Gen members and Con 3 attachees roles and responsibilities:
- Create awareness and publicity of this photography exhibition
- Receiving and recording photo entries
- Plan and set up the photo exhibition layout, displaying all received photo entries for our parishioners pleasure viewing
- Be around during the selected publicity and photography exhibition weeks
- And thereby the dismantle of the photo exhibition
How's things going to be organized: Both Genesis and the Con 3 attachees will be spilt into 5 smaller groups with 2 attachees in each (10 attachess in total). This will help in organizing duty rosters like for publicity and booth mending. The groupings could also help in our little sharing sessions if needed. While groups are having duty, the rest will continue to have normal Genesis Sessions - spiritual input, games, etc. Also, at the end of the attached file, there's a list of teams. Poster Designing, Registration Form Team and Logistics & Printing Team. This is for only a small number of you and if too many people in one team would just make the job slower.
To keep in contact with the Con3s: When I send out another email of the groupings, there will be people assigned as Facils. To basically keep watch of its group members and responsible of the attendance of the Con 3s.
If there is any thing can just email me or sms me. Please let me know also if you're not able to come this Saturday.
