Hey All!

Now I'm sure we all know what happened last Saturday and so I hope we all know what there is to learn.

Anyway, I'm spamming you with the same message just to make sure that you get the same message as everybody does in your most convenient way.

So that aside, here's what's happening for this coming Saturday.

 

Post-Con Camp 2010

"a camp for confirmands who were confirmed on 2010"

Date: 10 December 2010 to 12 December 2010

Genesis will be helping out in Games from 2pm to 4pm.

It will just be games after games in the time slot above. (Meaning, we won't be doing our usual station games as this is just a small group)

The following are the games: 
[Please Note that the details and logistics are not yet edited and fixed. I'm just sending this to you now to just let you be aware of the games that will be played]


1. Candle Fight

(Logistics)

- 30 candle sticks
- 2 lighters/2 match boxes
- 1 roll raffia string

(Gameplay)
Players are given a candle each.
At each base, each team will have a rope wall and a fire source.
Teams' objective is to burn the opponents' rope wall.
At the same, players have to protect their candle from being extinguished.
Once extinguished, players will have to go back to their base and relight their candle to continue.


2. Sweet Penguin
(same as con 3 camp 2010)
-blue canvas
-2 paper plate
-2 bucket
-2 paint palette
-4 paper
-flour
-skittles



3. Bombs away

(Logistics)
"each group gets"
- trashbags
- 50 water bags
- 2 buckets of water
- 1 small container

(Gameplay)
Teams will have to get a partner.
Each pair will be given a trashbag and will have to open it up.
From the start, the first member will have to make a water bomb with the logistics given, place it on the first trashbag, and launch it to the next pair.
Pairs will repeat this until it reaches the end with the bag still in tact.
The team with the most successful water bags wins.

4. Message in the Bottle (same as con3 camp 2010)
- 10 blind folds
- 6 bottles
- 1 bucket
- 10 cups

(Gameplay)
Teams hands will be tied together with an empty cup in their mouth
Once the game starts, there'll be bucket of water at the front. And first person from each team is to scoop up water into their cup and pass it on without using their hands.
Each team will need to use this water to fill up bottles which will have a message in it.
Once the bottles are filled, each team is to form a sentence from the given words.

5. Toxic waste
(Logistics)
"each group gets"
- a roll of twine
- a bottle
- a masking tape roll

(Gameplay)

The bottle will be tied and connected with strings.
On the ground, there are points marked with tape.
Teams will be sitting around a circle boundary, each holding one string connected to the bottle.
The teams' objective is to move the bottle onto each of the markings without dropping the bottle or spilling any of the contents in it. 

6. Shapes
-10 blind fold
-2 metre twine

(Gameplay)
each member will be blind folded hold the twine in a circular shape.
facilitators will then shift members around to form the shape requested.

The Concept of the games above are fixed already. But the details are yet to be mended. SO BE MINDFUL that the gameplay MAY CHANGE.

WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN ON 11 DECEMBER 2010?

  • Genesis Members will meet in church at 11AM. 
    • Make sure your wall fuzzies socks are done. We will hang them in the CAGE.
    • All wall fuzzie notes and letters are to be done before arrival at church. 
    • Wall fuzzies will be continued through January.


  • Genesis Members will make their way to CAYC and reach around 12PM.
    • Lunch to be bought at coffee shop near CAYC upon arrival.
  • Genesis Meeting will commence at CAYC
    • 18th December Planning Committee will continue planning for their event.
    • 4th December Planning Committee will be task to do 'something'.
  • At around 1:30PM, Genesis are to be prepared for PCP Games.
  • Games will start at 2pm till 4pm.
    • Games will be played one by one.
    • Certain members will be Game mastering the game whereas the rest will join in the crowd to play the games.
    • BRING EXTRA CLOTHING, SHOWER KIT, SLIPPERS.

  • At 4pm, when games are done, Genesis to do Games Debrief and Briefing for 18th December.
  • *optional: Genesis to go for Mass together with Post Con Camp.
  • Otherwise, HOME SWEET HOME.

3. YOUTH NIGHT!!!! Remember our exciting HolyWood? Let's show our support at the Christmas Special Youth Night which will be held at the carpark on this night!

1. Christmas Caroling Songs


All members please request any Christmas songs to Emman by 6 Nov, Fri. Any singer would do as long it's something to do with Christmas haha.

Any member interested of designing can propose their design to Gericho by 6 Nov, Fri

Opening to all Youths & Young Adults.
Caroling Dates: 19th and 20th Dec 2009 at the church foyer

Hi all!

Once again, we meet up for our monthly youth gathering to pray. But we've got something special this month - we're having yet another pot-luck party! For those of you who've missed our 3rd OCT moon night, join us for this one!

6:00pm - Our monthly prayer meet (1hr) - we'll hear some inputs of the lives of some saints, sing some hymns and pray for all the people around us including our priests and our youth ministry!

7:00pm - Potluck Dinner Party! We'll play, different types of games, boardgames, interactive stuff so bring all your boardgames along!

Type of food to bring:
- staples: sandwiches, beehoon, fried rice, etc
- meats: chicken wings, nuggets, easy stuff?
- desserts
- drinks

Lastly, don't forget to... DRESS UP AS YOUR PATRON SAINT!
* There will be 2 main prizes for best dressed Saint (Male Saint / Female Saint)*
.... So come in your most Saint-like outfit! You can find some cloth to drab over your pyjamas - haahah!

NOTE, we are NOT celebrating Halloween so "ghosts" are not allowed! hehe.. we are celebrating ALL SAINTS DAY on 1st November! ;)

OLPS Con 3 Camp


Date: 14 - 16 November 2009
Venue: CAYC
Time: Sat 8am - Mon 4:30pm

Facils are needed here but only selected people will have the chance to go. Selected people can go as either a Facil or a newbie (Co-Facil hahahaha).

*Note: All selected and confirmed Facils will have to attend a briefing on 8th Nov, Sunday. (Time TBC)
